| |||
| Following hardware is required for calibration:
| |||
| * BMS Main 3 / BMS Main 3X device with firmware v2.4.0 of higher (see [[Firmware>>doc:Firmware.bms-main-3.WebHome]]);
| * DC power supply with 9-32V output voltage for powering up the BMS Main 3 / BMS Main 3X;
| * DC power supply with 500-1000V output voltage for calibration;
| * A precision voltmeter with a measurement range of at least 1000V and a total intrinsic error below 0.2%.;
| * Connection adapters to communicate with BMS Main 3: USB-miniUSB cable (if USB connection is used), USB-CAN adapter (if CAN communication is used);
| * PC or laptop. | ||
| |||
| Required software: | ||
| |||
| * ElectricDeviceMonitor software for configuring BMS Main 3 (see [[ElectricDeviceMonitor>>doc:Software.ElectricDeviceMonitor.WebHome]])

| |||
| Follow these steps to calibrate the high voltage measurement circuit.
| |||
| **1)** Connect BMS Main 3 / BMS Main 3X to DC power supply with 9-32V output voltage (X1 header), to DC power supply with 500-1000V output voltage (X11-X12 headers for HV1 lines calibration; X13-X14 headers for HV2 lines calibration) and to PC (X6 or X10 header). When connecting, you must follow [[Connection manual>>doc:Battery management systems.BMS Main 3.2\. Installation and connection.WebHome]].
| |||
| **2)** Apply power to BMS Main 3 / BMS Main 3X and generate a KEYRUN signal to start the device. To do this, turn on a power source with an output voltage of 9 to 32V.
| |||
| **3) **Launch ElectricDeviceMonitor, select Unified Monitor, and choose the required connection method:
| |||
| * Via USB bus (for this, you need to specify the name of the device’s virtual COM port)
| * Via CAN bus (for this, you need to select the appropriate adapter type and specify the device ID on the network, which is **32** by default).
| |||
| **4)** Connect to BMS Main 3 / BMS Main 3X using the "Service" account.
| |||
| **5)** Turn on a DC power supply with an 500-1000V output voltage. For calibrating BMS Main 3, a voltage of 500V is recommended.
| |||
| **6) **Calibrating the HV1 circuit:
| |||
| a) Connect a precision voltmeter to the 500-1000V DC power supply output terminals that are connected to the HV1 measurement circuit (connectors X11-X12).
| |||
| b) In the Unified Monitor window of the ElectricDeviceMonitor software, select the State tab and go to the "Service – Calibration" section. In the "High Voltage 1: Reference voltage" field, enter the reading from the precision voltmeter.
| |||
| c) Click the "High Voltage 1: Calibrate" button.
| |||
| The HV1 measurement circuit calibration will begin. The process takes about 2 seconds. Be sure to wait until calibration is complete.
| |||
| d) Verify the operation of the HV1 high-voltage measurement circuit by comparing the "Battery – High voltage 1" value with the voltmeter reading.
| |||
| **7) **Calibrating the HV2 circuit:
| |||
| a) CConnect a precision voltmeter to the 500-1000V DC power supply output terminals that are connected to the HV2 measurement circuit (connectors X13-X14).
| |||
| b) In the Unified Monitor window of the ElectricDeviceMonitor software, select the State tab and go to the "Service – Calibration" section. In the "High Voltage 2: Reference voltage" field, enter the reading from the precision voltmeter.
| |||
| c) Click the "High Voltage 2: Calibrate" button.
| |||
| The HV2 measurement circuit calibration will begin. The process takes about 2 seconds. Be sure to wait until calibration is complete.
| |||
| d) Verify the operation of the HV2 high-voltage measurement circuit by comparing the "Battery – High voltage 2" value with the voltmeter reading.
| |||
| **8)** Turn off all power supplies. The calibration is now complete. |
